Jennifer Morrison reflects on her own enthusiasm for using student data to improve teaching and learning. She urges teacher leaders to use, and encourage colleagues to use, data to guide student learning, connect data to important questions, and analyze and reflect together on teaching practice. For data to truly affect classroom learning, Morrison stresses that teachers need to be empowered stakeholders in the process. Teacher leaders, therefore, have an essential role to play. They must advocate for these conditions, model the analysis of data, and facilitate inquiry-based research and applications.
