Learning Forward has found that professional learning that integrates theories, research, and models of human learning can increase educator effectiveness. Together, these elements create the Learning Designs standards and translate into meaningful professional learning for educators. By incorporating this model in professional development, teacher leaders will respond to the diverse learning needs of colleagues by identifying, promoting, and facilitating varied and differentiated professional learning. In turn, these actions will promote student learning by supporting educator development.
