Description: 
The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) highlights strategies for data collection to assess classroom and school effectiveness. In Chicago’s District 15, teacher leaders work collaboratively to collect and analyze various types of data.

This district has found significant value in utilizing “fast feedback forms.” Following a lesson, teachers distribute these forms to students and request feedback on their teaching methods and lesson design. This strategy provides teacher leaders with valuable information to make necessary adjustments in order to meet individual student needs and build student enthusiasm for learning.

In their roles as classroom teachers, teacher leaders are essential to the collection and utilization of this data. They can work with colleagues, school leaders, and district personnel in order to gather feedback from students and apply the results in meaningful and productive ways.
